  • Provide accurate information when submitting enquiries or arranging service appointments
  • Not attempt to disrupt, alter, or interfere with the website's operation

Prohibited Conduct

  • Misrepresenting ownership of a timepiece submitted for repair
  • Submitting any stolen, counterfeit, or encumbered item without disclosure
  • Reproducing, scraping, or republishing content from this website without written permission
  • Using the website to send unsolicited communications or engage in deceptive conduct

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, layout, design, photographs, and branding — is the property of Cogveil or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not permit reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of any content without prior written consent from Cogveil.

Service records, condition reports, and progress photographs produced during a repair engagement are prepared for the client's personal reference and may not be republished or used for commercial purposes without written agreement.

Payment Terms

All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are indicative until confirmed in writing following assessment of the individual timepiece.

  • A written quotation will be provided before any work begins
  • Work commences only upon the client's written acceptance of the quotation
  • Payment is due upon collection of the completed timepiece, unless otherwise agreed in writing
  • Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of quotation

Where a client declines to proceed following assessment, a bench assessment fee may apply. This will be communicated clearly before any assessment work begins.

Refunds and Cancellations

If a service is cancelled after work has commenced, costs incurred up to the point of cancellation will be charged proportionally. Refunds for completed work will be considered only where the service was not performed to the agreed scope, and any such request should be directed to [email protected] within 14 days of collection.

Repair Services — Specific Terms

Item Drop-Off and Collection

Clients are responsible for the safe delivery and collection of their timepiece. We recommend carrying your own insurance for valuable pieces in transit. A service receipt will be issued at drop-off and should be retained for collection purposes.

Scope and Changes

If additional work is identified during the repair process, we will contact you before proceeding. No additional charges will be incurred without your prior written or verbal approval.

Uncollected Items

Timepieces not collected within 90 days of completion notice may be subject to storage fees. Items uncollected for more than 12 months, after reasonable notice, may be treated as abandoned in accordance with applicable law.

Service Documentation

A written service summary is included with all completed repairs. For vintage restoration work, a printed service record will accompany the finished timepiece.

Disclaimers

This website and its content are provided in good faith for informational purposes. While we take care to keep information accurate, we make no representations that all content is complete, current, or free from error.

Information on this website is not a substitute for a formal written quotation. Pricing and availability are subject to change. Results of repair work will vary depending on the condition and age of the timepiece.

Cogveil is a specialist repair workshop. We do not provide valuations, authentication, or investment advice regarding timepieces.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Cogveil's liability in connection with any service or the use of this website is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential loss
  • Loss of use or loss of value arising from the repair process
  • Pre-existing damage or deterioration not identified prior to service commencement
  • Events beyond our reasonable control (including supply chain delays for specialist parts)

Our liability for loss or damage to a timepiece in our care is limited to the documented replacement value of the item, up to RM 20,000 per item, unless a higher agreed limit is established in writing prior to acceptance of the piece.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Cogveil, its personnel, and associated parties harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your submission of inaccurate information, or your misuse of this website.

Termination

Either party may terminate a service engagement by written notice, subject to the payment obligations outlined in Section 6. Cogveil reserves the right to decline or discontinue a service where the scope proves to be materially different from what was initially understood, where the condition of the piece presents an unacceptable risk to the item, or where these Terms have been breached.

Provisions concerning intellectual property, liability, and dispute resolution survive termination of any agreement.

Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Both parties agree to attempt informal resolution of any dispute by communicating in good faith before pursuing formal proceedings.

If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction. For consumer disputes involving amounts below the statutory threshold, you may also contact the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (Tribunal Tuntutan Pengguna Malaysia).

General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any written service quotation, constitute the full agreement between you and Cogveil in respect of the subject matter.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • No Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without prior written consent. Cogveil may assign rights in connection with a business transfer.
  • Notices: Formal notices should be sent to [email protected].

We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. The revised effective date will be noted at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For significant changes affecting service engagements already in progress, we will notify affected clients directly.
